Wicca the Witch is inspired by the Grimm's witch in Hansel and Grettel and L. Frank Baum's Wicked Witch of the West. Her head is knitted in stocking stitch starting with ear flaps, continuing up the face and creating her hat by decreasing stitches to form her pointy hat. A rim is added,  Her eyes and teeth are knitted separately, sewn together then attached to the head with embroidering work between the teeth to create her smile. Her pointy nose adds to her 3D effect. Wicca is finished by using the Larks Head Knot to add her long hair.

What We're Reading

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum

Wicca will make a fantastic Wicked Witch of the West as Dorothy, Toto and her trio of heroes set off down the yellow brick road to the Emerald City to meet the Wizard and on to defeat the Wicked Witch. Lyric the Lion would make the perfect Cowardly Lion.

Fairytale Frankie and the Tricky Witch by Greg Gormley

Join Frankie as she meets all the usual Fairytale characters and helps them find a hiding place from the witch who is on her way to find them. But not is all as it seems as this tale will have a happy, playful ending.

Little Miss Sunshine and the Wicked Witch by Roger Hargreaves

The Wicked Witch has been living in the Whispering Woods and has been casting spells on the Little Misses and Mr Men and turning them into different animals. Little Miss Sunshine sets out to help her friends and remove the witch from the woods.
