Raley means deer meadow, Raley the Reindeer is inspired by the reindeers found in the Arctic tundra. The main head is knitted in stocking stitch starting with ear flaps, the main head has a little colour work using the intarsia knitting technique and decreasing to shape the crown. The features are knitted separately, sewn together then attached to the head. The snout is stuffed with toy stuffing which together with Raley’s large nose and staggering antlers gives a fantastic 3D effect. Rayley could also make a great Rudolf if you change the nose to red.

A fantastic idea for a DIY Christmas present that was a joy to make. The instructions were detailed and very well thought through. The hints and tips page was also a great resource.
