Penn the Giant Panda has been designed with Super Chunky Blanket Yarn to give him an extra soft feel. A little stuffing is used to produce the signature round-faced, cuddly look. The main head is knitted in stocking stitch starting with ear flaps, there is a little intarsia work to produce the panda patches, then decreasing to shape the crown. The features are knitted separately, sewn together then attached to the head. The snout is stuffed with toy stuffing which together with Penn’s large nose and black ears gives a fantastic 3D effect. Penn is finished with black and white eyes and a little stuffing is added before inserting the lining.

This project is for those who have learnt the basics and ready to introduce simple stitch patterns, basic colour work and some shape work.

This is a beautifully illustrated book, I love drawing and this book completely sums up how I felt when I wanted to draw something but teachers told me it wasn’t right. A lovely book showing how to express yourself creatively.
