Oslo is a play on a barred owl, although his colouring is inspired by Owl in The Gruffalo. We start with a little colour work using the stranding knitting technique to create Oslo's stripy wings. The main head has instructions for working both flat or in-the-round. Knitted in stocking stitch then decreasing to shape the crown.  The features are knitted separately, sewn together then attached to the head. His bulbous eyes are made by knitting a dome first which creates his fantastic 3d features especially when accompanied by his feathers and beak.
