Inspired by Kenneth Grahame's Moly from The Wind in the Willows, Muse the Mole will be clawing to get to your next adventure.  The main head has instructions for working both flat or in-the-round. Knitted in stocking stitch starting with ear flaps, we work in a little intarsia to highlight the paws continuing with the head and decreasing to shape the crown.  The features are knitted separately, sewn together then attached to the head. The snout is stuffed to give a great 3D effect with a nose added to the end.  Muse has big black eyes and is finished with his pointy claws.

What We're Reading

The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse by Charlie Mackesy

I can’t tell you how much I love this book, it is my go-to book for a gift. It is beautiful, with stunning illustrations and powerful messages. Check out our patterns for Hayden the Horse and Fable the Fox to complete the group.

The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame

This classic was a favourite of mine as a youngster, join Moley as he has the courage to leave your underground home, venture to the riverside to meet new friends and find adventure after adventure. Team up with River the Rat, Tilia the Toad and Bartlett the Badger to complete the trio.

Mole’s Hill by Lois Ehlert

Can Muse the Mole help outwit Fox, Skunk and Raccoon? He has until the summer is over to do so. A lovely picture book that uses simple shapes to create clever illustrations.
