Flare the Flamingo is fabulously flamboyant. Starting with her feet we use i-cords. The main head is knitted in stocking stitch using super chunky blanket yarn starting with ear flaps, working up then decreasing to shape the crown. The features are knitted separately, sewn together then attached to the head. The long neck is stuffed with toy stuffing which together with Flare’s fantastic feathers gives a flowing 3D effect.
With a few easy alterations, you could make Flare a cuddly toy rather than a hat, these instructions are included in the pattern.
