Too many classic literary bears to name for my inspiration for Buddy but Winnie the Pooh and Paddington are definitely my childhood favourites. Buddy is one of our simpler designs, made with only a few colours that give a dramatic effect. The main head has instructions for working both flat or in-the-round. Knitted in stocking stitch starting with ear flaps and decreasing to shape the crown. The features are knitted separately, sewn together then attached to the head. The snout has a little colour work using the stranded knitting technique. It is stuffed with toy stuffing which together with Buddy’s large nose gives a fantastic 3d effect. Buddy is finished with button eyes.
