World Whale Day

We have also been learning some wonderful whale facts.
🐋The Blue Whale is the largest animal that ever existed at 90ft long and up to 180 tons.

🐋The Vaquita Porpoise is the smallest whale at 5 ft long. It is the most endangered marine animal in the world. It is estimated there are less than 60 Vaquita remaining.
🐋There are around 40 species of whale that fall into two categories: toothed whales and baleen whales. Toothed whales have teeth to eat squid and fish. Baleen whales have fringed plates to eat smaller prey like krill.
🐋Toothed whales have only one blowhole. Baleen whales have two 🐳
