Metis the Monkey is one cheeky chap. The main head is knitted in stocking stitch starting with ear flaps, there is a little intarsia work to produce the face, then decreasing to shape the crown. The features are knitted separately, sewn together then attached to the head. The snout is stuffed with toy stuffing which together with Metis’ large ears and black eyes gives a fantastic 3D effect. Metis is finished with a curly tail.

What We're Reading
Monkey Puzzle by Julia Donaldson & illustrated by Axel Scheffler
Monkey has lost his mum but with the help of butterfly he is sure to find her. Butterfly will have to solve monkey’s descriptive clues while we visit many of the jungle animals searching for her.
Monkey and Me by Emily Gravett
Beautifully illustrated, join in guessing who a little stuffed monkey and Me are going to see. I read this to my eldest and again later to my youngest and the book always turns into a fully interactive event with acting the actions and shouting the answers.
Grumpy Monkey by Suzanne Lang
Jim Panzee is not feeling quite right, is he grumpy? All the other animals think they know what he should do to feel better, hug, nap, dance… but maybe Jim just needs to feel grumpy today?
