This is a downloadable PDF knitting pattern
Sydney the Snoman has a hat on a hat. Inspired by Raymond Briggs' The Snowman. The main head is knitted in stocking stitch starting with ear flaps, his colourful scarf is in garter stitch and working up, a few simple stitches are used to heighten Sydney’s top hat and a rim is added. The features are knitted separately, sewn together then attached to the head. Sydney’s bright orange carrot nose makes for a festive 3d feature. He is finished with coal for his mouth and two button eyes.

What We're Reading
Oh, no Mr Snowman! by Nick Page
My daughter gets us to read this one all year round. Sydney is only meant to play outside with Katy and me but he keeps on sneaking in and making things cold. Can you find him hiding around the house?
The Snowman by Raymond Briggs
This ultimate classic is an absolute Christmas must, beautifully illustrated, let Sydney fly you away to the North Pole to dance the night away with other snowmen and a special guest.
Snowmen at Night by Caralyn Buehner
This funny little tale about what Snowmen get up to when you’re fast asleep will make you chuckle. Don’t worry if Sydney is looking a little tired he has no doubt been throwing snowballs or sledging down hills.
