Inspired by Wilbur from Charlotte’s Web Polo is one of our simpler designs, made with only a couple of colours that give a dramatic effect. The main head has instructions for working both flat or in-the-round. Knitted in stocking stitch starting with ear flaps and decreasing to shape the crown. The features are knitted separately, sewn together then attached to the head. The snout is stuffed with toy stuffing which together with his ears gives a fantastic 3d effect. Polo is finished with button eyes and nostrils and if you turn him around a cute curly tail.

If you have never knitted before and ready to learn these are the projects for you. You will need to learn how to cast on and cast off. Learn how to do a knit (k) and purl (p) stitch and perhaps a basic increase (kfb) and decrease (k2tog) stitch too. This pattern will be in stocking stitch (st st) or garter stitch (g-st).
What We're Reading
Charlotte’s Web by EB White
Wilbur needs help but he doesn’t have many friends to help him. Can you, Polo and Charlotte the spider come up with a cunning plan to save him? Maybe Saga the Spider can play the part of Charlotte.
Ribbit by Rodrigo Folgueira
This lovely story is about a pig who doesn’t oink, instead, he says Ribbit! Is he confused or being rude? Perhaps you and Polo can help him make friends. Hop over and check out our pattern for Fausto the Frog to make a froggy friend.
The Three Little Pigs
What will Polo make his house out of, straw, wood or bricks? Let’s hope he is a clever little piggy and the Big Bad Wolf runs out of huff and puff. Wilde the Wolf is available to make the classic tale complete.
