This is a downloadable PDF knitting pattern
Inspired by Michael Morpurgo War Horse, my Hayden is a bay horse but feel free to use a colour to represent your favourite literary horse. The main head is knitted in stocking stitch starting with ear flaps and decreasing to shape the crown. The features are knitted separately with a small amount of stranded knitting, sewn together then attached to the head. The muzzle and ears are stuffed with toy stuffing which together with his blaze gives a fantastic 3d effect. Hayden’s is finished with jet black eyes and a fabulous flowing mane.
