Imagine having your very own Imagine Friend

If you would like to see your beloved character or illustration in hat form, please feel free to contact me.  Whether you have a single character or a pack of lovable heroes, we can have a chat about your choices, what your requirements are and provide a quotation to make your creations jump off of your page and onto your head. I am able to recreate your images into a hat whilst keeping that Imagine a Hat fun and style.

The Moonlight Hare

This magical poetic tale follows the Moonlight Hare as he speeds through the night racing to his next adventure. The illustrations are beautifully designed to look like layered cutouts. The Moonlight Hare is not published yet and Victoria’s website will be up and running soon so watch this space.

It has been an absolute pleasure to recreate The Moonlight Hare, he is strong and bold but still has a cheeky smile.  His extra-long ears give him a sleek and speedy look.  The choice of yarn was particularly important for this commission and I love how the colour of the blue changes in the different lights, very apt given the title.

I had the pleasure of recording a reading with our new Imagine Friend and if you would like to hear this beautiful bedtime story and see The Moonlight Hare in action head over to our What We’re Reading channel.

I have been watching the development of Imagine a Hat with keen interest and have been thoroughly impressed with all of Natasha’s creations. I am so pleased that she agreed to do a custom design to go alongside my children’s book, ‘The Moonlight Hare’.

I don’t know how she does it, but Natasha has captured my Hare’s personality and whimsy and has made me fall in love with him all over again. I am looking forward to working on new characters with her in the future. Not only do her hats bring stories to life and draw children into the magical world of reading, but they also give children the confidence to come out of their shells and role play, I wish this had been around for my boys when they were young. I can’t wait to see what she ‘imagines’ next!!

Smooch Gets A Dog

Smooch wants a dog, but her mum suggests borrowing one first to see how she gets on.  This charming, funny story follows Smooch and her dog(fish) as they get into all sorts of adventures and mischief.  Smooch Gets a Dog is not published yet but to check out Smooch and her friends and to show your support click here.

I had so much fun replicating these bold and bright characters.  Although they are all fish they each have their own personalities and features.  Each snout, fin and tail are different and it was a fin-tastic opportunity to experiment with new designs for each of them. I am so pleased with the final hats especially Dog(fish)’s large dorsal fin and I love Dotty’s tentacle ear flaps!

I would never have imagined it would be possible to bring such a broad variety of characters to life as hats. Incredibly, Natasha has done just that! She has retained their charm and individuality, and they are every bit as fun as a hat as they are in the Smooch and Friends books. It’s really impressive to see 5 characters executed so well. I am looking forward to imagining more adventures, meeting new characters and seeing how Imagine A Hat brings them to life! You really must give your characters the Imagine A Hat treatment!
